Cape Town, 6 September 2016:  Marriott International, one of the world’s leading hospitality brands, has officially been recognised as the ‘Best International Hotel Group’ at the recent Business Traveller Africa Awards, for the second year running.

The awards are a celebration of the region’s top businesses in the travel and hospitality sectors, and the world’s largest hotel groups were in competition – Four Seasons, Hilton, Hyatt, and Starwood.  Marriott’s announcement came at The Business Traveller Africa Conference & Awards on Thursday, 1 September 2016.

Commenting on the award, Mark Satterfield, Chief Operating Officer for Marriott International, Middle East & Africa and Business Leader for Protea Hotels by Marriott® in South Africa, said, “The Awards enjoy great credibility because a wide range of industry professionals provide input – travel agents throughout South Africa, as well as corporate travel buyers from the continent.”

Satterfield explains that, “This recognition is really important. With an outstanding team of associates in the region, this award truly is a reflection of our commitment to delivering high-quality service and enhancing the guest experience across each and every one of our outlets.  Being identified as the top international hospitality group in Africa by the business travel trade sector reinforces our positioning as the leading hotel operator, and confirms that our ever-evolving portfolio of innovative and award-winning brands resonates with our customers and fellow industry stakeholders.”
