Terms and Conditions: Protea Hotels Summer Weekend Giveaway Competition
1. This competition is run by LUXURY HOTELS INTERNATIONAL SOUTH AFRICA (PTY) LTD (“Protea Hotels by Marriott®”) and by participating in this competition, you agree to these terms and conditions.
2. This competition will run from Monday, 21 November 2016 until Sunday, 11 December 2016 (both dates inclusive).
3. You can enter the competition through the Protea Hotels Facebook page. Entrants must enter by liking the page, liking and sharing the weekly competition post, as well as commenting on the post by tagging your travel partner, in order to receive one (1) entry into the random draw for the week’s related prize. You may enter as many times as you wish throughout the competition period, but only one entry per week is permitted.
4. The competition is open to all legal residents and citizens of South Africa and entrants must be 18 years or older.
5. If you are lucky enough to be an employee, director, member, partner, or agent of or consultant to Protea Hotels or if you are a spouse, life partner, immediate member or business partner of such a person, you are not eligible to enter this competition.
6. If you meet the requirements set out in paragraph 4, and you are not excluded from entering this competition per paragraph 5, you will automatically be entered into the competition.
7. Only Protea Hotels Facebook fans that enter correctly on the weekly post will be entered into the draw for the weekly prize.
8. Additional to the above, the standard Protea Hotels Terms and Conditions apply.
WINNERS!
9. Each week 1 lucky winner will be randomly selected from all qualifying entries for the associated prize. The results of the random selection will be final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into. Protea Hotels will announce the winners via Facebook in order to request their contact details, following which the winners will be contacted via e-mail or telephonically. If we cannot get hold of you within 1 week of the draw, you will forfeit your prize.

10. All eligible entries received by midnight on Sunday, before the weekly draw will be entered into the draw. The draw will take place the following Monday at 10am and the prizes are as follows:
29 November 2016 – Durban Prize
- 1 x Two nights stay voucher at Protea Hotels by Marriott® valid at participating hotels in South Africa, for 2 people sharing on a room only basis. Plus, the choice between a scheduled Durban City Tour or an uShaka Marine World Tour for 2 people compliments of Thompsons Holidays and Hylton Ross, valid until 15 June 2017. Marriott Rewards Members will also get 20 000 bonus points.
06 December 2016 – Johannesburg Prize
- 1 x Two nights stay voucher at Protea Hotels by Marriott® valid at participating hotels in South Africa, for 2 people sharing on a room only basis. Plus, a full day scheduled Journey to Freedom Tour for 2 people compliments of Thompsons Holidays and Hylton Ross, valid until 15 June 2017. Marriott Rewards Members will also get 20 000 bonus points.
13 December 2016 – Cape Town Prize
- 1 x Two nights stay voucher at Protea Hotels by Marriott® valid at participating hotels in South Africa, for 2 people sharing on a room only basis. Plus, a full day scheduled Winelands Tour for 2 people compliments of Thompsons Holidays and Hylton Ross, valid until 15 June 2017. Marriott Rewards Members will also get 20 000 bonus points.
11. Winners will be chosen at random and you (the winner) are only eligible to win once during the campaign and will not be eligible for the remaining prizes.
12. Protea Hotels may (but is not obliged to) select another winner if we cannot get hold of you; if you do not claim your prize within the time period specified above; or if you become disqualified from winning.
13. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
14. Each prize is bound by additional terms & conditions.
15. The redemption of prizes is subject to availability and only valid for period specified on the voucher.
16. Transport to and from the hotel is NOT included unless otherwise stated.
17. Any costs or expenses which you may incur, other than in respect of those items specifically included in a prize, are for your own account.
18. Prize vouchers may not be used in conjunction with another promotion or existing hotel package.
19. Any extension of stay at the hotel will be at standard rates charged by the hotel.
20. Protea Hotels and any affiliates are not responsible for any injury, damage or loss of any kind in connection with the competition.
21. Protea Hotels is not responsible, and will not be liable to compensate you, if any mistake is made by any of Protea Hotels’ employees or agents in running the competition or awarding the prize. We are also not responsible for circumstances beyond our control or for errors or disruptions in any communication systems that prevent you from being duly entered for the competition or notified of winning.
22. Protea Hotels will not be held liable for any misinterpretation of the prize, rules and conditions or any specific part thereof.
23. Entrants completely release Facebook from any and all liability in connection with this competition.
24. We will treat all personal information obtained through your entry as private and confidential. Our commitment to your privacy and the security of your personal information is outlined in our privacy policy.
25. We reserve the right to change, alter and/or withdraw this competition at any time, for any reason. Any such amendments will be published on our website (www.proteahotels.com) or in another appropriate medium. Any such publication will form part of these terms and conditions and you agree to be bound by them.
